TNF-TDF Deeksha on Fluorosis attracts remedial steps from Govt.

The decade-old pestering problem of fluorosis came back into focus thanks to the 1-day Deeksha held last week by Telangana Development Forum (TDF) and Telangana Netizens Forum (TNF). Several eminent personalities from all walks of life have participated in the event which was a show of strength from Telangana civil society to tackle a dreaded menace that disrupted lakhs of lives.

This effort seems to have bore fruit by triggering a meeting of speaker with the Collector of Nalgonda as well as Principal Secretaries of Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Dept. and Women,Child Dev & Social Welfare Dept – Vikas Raj & Neelam Sahani respectively. The meeting decided that a 10 member committee comprising of officers of all these departments would be formed in Nalgonda district to address concerns of safe drinking water, malnutrition, pensions, medical facilities for victims of fluorosis. We hope the efforts take off and let us see some results. We congratulate the young team of TNF for working towards solutions for problems ailing our society.
