ప్రభుత్వాల అలసత్వం.. వాహనదారుల నిర్లక్ష్యం, తొందరపాటు కారణంగా ప్రతిఏటా కాపలా లేని రైల్వే క్రాసింగ్‌ల వద్ద ప్రమాదాలు పెరుగుతూనే ఉన్నాయి. 2001 నుంచి డిసెంబర్ 2013 వరకు మొత్తం కాపలాలేని రైల్వేక్రాసింగ్‌ల వద్ద జరిగిన ప్రమాదాల్లో 870 మంది మృతి చెందితే.. ఇందులో ఏప్రిల్ 2013 నుంచి డిసెంబర్ 2013 మధ్యకాలంలోనే 66 మంది దుర్మరణం పాలయ్యారు. రైల్వే క్రాసింగ్‌ల వద్ద ఏర్పాటు చేసే హెచ్చరిక బోర్డులు, సంకేతాలు ఇవేవీ ఎలాంటి ప్రయోజనాన్నివ్వ లేదు.కానీ రైల్వే క్రాసింగ్‌ల వద్ద స్పీడ్ బ్రేకర్ల నిర్మాణంలో కొద్దిపాటి మార్పులు చేస్తే ప్రమాదాల సంఖ్యను గణనీయంగా తగ్గించవచ్చని మానవప్రవర్తనను క్షుణ్ణంగా అధ్యయనం చేసిన ఇంజినీరింగ్ నిపుణులు పేర్కొంటున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం ప్రతి రైల్వే క్రాసింగ్ వద్ద పట్టాలకు ఇరువైపులా పది మీటర్ల దూరంలో అప్రోచ్ రోడ్లపై స్పీడ్ బ్రేకర్లను నిర్మిస్తున్నారు. కానీ వీటిని రోడ్డుకు కచ్చితంగా లంబకోణంలో నిర్మిస్తున్నారు.ఫలితంగా వీటి మీదుగా ప్రయాణించే వాహనాల ముందు, వెనుక టైర్లు ఒకే సారి స్పీడ్‌బ్రేకర్లపైకి ఎక్కి దిగుతాయి. అలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో వాహనవేగం తగ్గించకపోయినా వాహనంలో ప్రయాణిస్తున్నవారు పెద్దగా కుదుపులకు గురికారు. దీనివల్ల రెండు నష్టాలున్నాయి. ఆ సమయంలో ...

Hearing about the bus accident within ten minutes of seeing off his 2 children to school, a father suffered a stroke and died in hospital on Thursday morning. The moment he heard about the death of his kids in the train-bus accident at Masaipet unmanned railway crossing in Medak, the father suffered a massive stroke. His two children Waheed and Razia were among the dead. The man breathed his last in the hospital. The school bus carrying some 38 children was hit by Nanded-Secunderabad Passenger at an unmanned railway crossing at Masaipet killing 20 children on the spot.

A school bus with around 45 kids aboard has been hit by a passenger train at unmanned level crossing near Masaipet today morning in the Medak District of Telangana state. 20 kids are reported to have died in the tragedy. After the school bus was hit by a passenger train, the bus was dragged by the train for almost 1 km before the train came to a halt. The dead bodies are spread through out the area and are unidentifiable. The bus belongs to Kakatiya techno school. The accident spot is near Manoharabad station.
