Mahindra and Mahindra chief executive Pravin Shah on Saturday met Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat and offered to set up a manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad for Dhruv tractors with an investment of over Rs 300 crore. Mahindra has been running Asia’s largest tractor manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad. The CM assured him that the government will provide all the facilities for setting up the plant at the earliest. CM also urged Mr Shah to come out with proposals to make Hyderabad, a pollution-free city, by manufacturing battery-run vehicles along the lines of those in developed countries. $ 16.7 billion Mahindra group Chairman & Managing Director Anand Mahindra met CM KCR on Saturday and discussed the ongoing works for the car plant near the Zaheerabad tractor plant. Mr Mahindra reportedly informed the CM that the plant would be operational within 4 months and that he would personally invite the CM for the opening ceremony.
