‘India 2nd Most Attacked In Cyber Warfare’ KTR Quotes Kaspersky Labs

Inaugurating the CII organized cyber security conference ‘Counter Measures to Face the Threats’ here on Friday, IT minister KTR said Kaspersky Labs had placed India as the 2nd most vulnerable country to cyber attacks. IT minister, who was also the chief guest, the IT minister said that around 85 per cent of websites — both public and private — complained of being hacked at least once and stressed on the need to adopt cyber security measures to thwart such attacks. He pointed that neighboring China has 25 million cyber warriors guarding it, India lags far behind with only 22,075 cyber security professionals. President’s Nod To Polavaram Bill

President Pranab Mukherjee has given his assent to a bill that facilitates handing over of over 530 villages spread across seven mandals in Telangana to the residual state of Andhra Pradesh for setting up of the multi-purpose Polavaram irrigation project.The President has given his consent to Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill yesterday making it an Act, official sources said.The Bill was passed by Parliament last week.The project involves relocation of about 50,000 families especially in Khammam in Telangana, besides 2,000 families in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.Polavaram project has been accorded national project status by the Centre. In the T News Live show yesterday, CM KCR said the Delhi rulers have by force separated 7 mandals of Telangana and merged them into AP. He said it is a bitter reality now and not much can be done. With this, the curtains came down on the contentious issue. The controversy ridden Lanco Hills project at Manikonda is back into focus with the government hinting at resuming the ‘wakf’ land. This is yet another setback to the infrastructure major which suffered a blow after the A.P.
