CM KCR Accepts The Polavaram Reality!

In the T News Live show yesterday, CM KCR said the Delhi rulers have by force separated 7 mandals of Telangana and merged them into AP. He said it is a bitter reality now and not much can be done. With this, the curtains came down on the contentious issue. Earlier, while the TRS was claiming to go to court over procedural lapses in getting the amendment passed, they seem to have accepted the reality right after passage of the Polavaram ordinance. The State Government till now did not approach the supreme court on the issue. This is perhaps out of the realization that the NDA government is determined to make the amendment even if the court nullifies the amendment.

A caller from Khammam told the CM how disheartened he is to know he would now be in AP territory and not in Telangana. The caller said he has been active in Telangana agitation all along and now he doesn’t know whether to be happy or sad with bifurcation and the merger of 7 mandals into AP happening at the same time. CM KCR shared his sorrow and said he feels the same. He however said that can’t be changed now and that his Govt would strive to get the displaced the right rehabilitation package. He also said the adivasis are welcome to come and live in Telanagna if relocating to their new places of living is difficult for them.

The highly publicized latest cabinet meet too didn’t discuss the Polavaram issue and the transfer of  7 mandals to AP implying that the State is not contesting the bill passed by Parliament. The cabinet otherwise discussed on decided on almost all critical issues. With this, the scores of agitations in Khammam over the bill now lost hope. It is now clear that the State Government won’t pursue the matter anymore in courts.
