Arun Jaitley confirms BJP-TDP alliance in both Telangana & Andhra

Electoral alliance between Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telugu Desam in both Telangana and Seemandhra regions is almost certain.

This message was reportedly conveyed to a senior State BJP leader by Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitely during the visit to the city here on Tuesday. BJP national president, Rajnath Singh, senior leader and MP, Prakash Javadekar and Mr. Jaitley were felicitated by Telangana BJP leaders at a thanksgiving public meeting for their support for creation of Telangana State.

According to BJP sources, Mr. Jaitley wanted the senior State party functionary to convey the message of the proposed alliance and prepare the mindset of the leaders and the cadre in this regard. The senior functionary in turn told another State party leader to talk to district leaders across Telangana on the issue.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Rajya Sabha member Y.Satyanarayana Chowdhary met Mr. Jaitley and reportedly wanted the alliance to be in place for the local bodies elections scheduled before the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
