Amendments play spoiler in Telangana Statehood celebrations

The UPA Govt. and BJP made no efforts whatsoever to address the concerns of Telangana in the AP State Re-Organization Bill while going the extra mile to accommodate Andhras’ concerns. All amendments proposed by Asaduddin Owaisi for securing the future of Telangana employees, lawyers, Singareni and the status of Hyderabad in favor of Telangana were defeated playing spoiler in the celebrations of Telangana activists.

The main disadvantages of the bill are -

1. Telangana Government will be run by Andhras, like the Andhra APNGOs who very adamantly opposed Statehood and went and strike and even started violence in Hyderabad. This is because the bill does not stress on nativity in relocating employees of AP Govt. Moreover, Andhra employees who already retired and who were in excess would receive pensions from Telangana State although their very employment was at the cost of Telangana employees.

2. Telangana wont get a separate high court immediately despite loudest protests from Telangana lawyers. This is all the more important because very crucial cases related to bifurcation, with long time repercussions, may go before Andhra-dominated AP High Court.

3. Despite Owaisi’s attempt, Telangana lost AP Bhawan to Andhra though it is property AP achieved at the cost of Nizam Telangana’s grandiose property in Delhi.
