KCR Presents Bangaru Bonam As Telangana Celebrates State Festival Bonalu

Bonalu, the annual festival celebrated throughout the Telangana region, particularly grandly in the twin cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad, has taken a colorful fervour this year as Telangana’s state festival. The thanksgiving festival dedicated to Goddess Mahankali, known also as Maisamma, Yellamma, Renuka Mata, Pochamma, Peddamma, Poleramma, Maramma, and Ankalamma got the official trappings this year. CM KCR resented ‘Bangaru Bonam’ and ‘Pattu Vastrams’ to Mahankali Ammavaru Temple at Lal Darwaza in the Old City on behalf of the State Government. CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya, TDP deputy floor leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Goshamahal MLA D Raja Singh and others prayed at the temple. Start-Up Festival In Hyderabad Next Month, Says IT Minister KTR

Hyderabad will be hosting another two-day start-up festival in August. Right now, the city is hosting startup weekend at ISB. Next month’s event would bring together entrepreneurs and investors on a common platform, said K. T. Rama Rao, the IT and panchayat minister who is gunning to enhance the technology ecosystem in the city by conducting tech events on a continual basis. “We want to encourage start-up firms by creating one of the best enabling ecosystems in the country. As part of this, we are going to organise a two-day start-up festival on August 30-31 in partnership with Hysea, TiE Hyderabad and Nasscom at ISB,” said the minister, addressing 200 startup entrepreneurs who participated in a cycle rally organised by the Atlanta Foundation on Saturday. After 2 months of due process resulting in design of 3 different logos, the logo for Telangana police department has been finalized. A badge too is designed for police uniforms. CM KCR chose one among the 3, which is designed by noted artist Aley Lakshman. As widely known, Mr Lakshman designed the Telangana state government’s logo too. The logo has the 3 words duty, honour and compassion as motto. A team led by DGP Anurag Sharma was overseeing the logo preparation for 2 months and this logo could be notified officially in few days after which it would be adapted by the police department in their offices, vehicles, stationery and importantly, their uniforms. Brijesh Tribunal Meet On 24th July; Telangana Prepares To Approach SC

The Brijesh Kumar tribunal is convening on 24 July and has invited Telangana, AP, Maharashtra and Karnataka to hear Telangana’s arguments over sharing of Krishna waters. This would be the 1st meeting in a series that shall determine an operational protocol for project-wise release of waters in the event of deficit flows. But Telangana is arguing for increasing the scope of hearings now as it is now a separate state and it faced severe discrimination in allotment of river waters in the composite state. The AP Reorganisation Act extended the term of the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal but Telangana is not happy with the terms of reference. Govt. Sets Up Committee To Implement Crop Loan Waiver

The Telangana government started the process to waive off farm loans up to 1 lakh for each farmer, as per this week’s cabinet decision. The Govt, set up a  inter-departmental committee to decide the modalities and monitor implementation. Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma issued orders to this effect on Saturday. The loan waiver is supposedly costing the Govt. Rs 19000 Cr. The committee will be headed by principal secretary (finance) V Nagi Reddy. The other members of the committee include principal secretaries BR Meena (revenue), P Rama Krishna Rao (finance) and Poonam Malakondaiah (agriculture), Registrar of Cooperative Societies, SLBC convenor, APCOB MD, a representative of RRB and financal advisor. Agriculture commissioner B Janardhan Reddy will be the convenor of the committee.
