Ravi Prakash, CEO of news channel TV9, was today arrested and released on bail in connection with a criminal case registered against the channel. The case was filed in June as reported by Telangana Talkies, on June 19. He had moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail but was not granted. Based on the directions of Hyderabad High Court, Ravi Prakash was supposed to surrender before a local court. He instead today surrendered before the L B Nagar police. A lawyer  S Janaradhan Goud had filed a private complaint in the court, against TV9′s infamous Bullet news bulletin. Mr. Ravi Prakash furnished two sureties each of Rs. 20,000 and a personal bond of Rs. 25,000. He will have to appear before police every first Sunday of the month ...

It is learnt that when the CD of TV9′s abusive Bullet News episode was played for legislators in the Committee hall of Assembly, a lady MLA cried after hearing the derogatory comments made in the program against the MLAs’ background and their physical appearances. The senior MLAs tried to console her, it is learnt and demanded strict action against the channel for such deliberate programming. Some MLAs even asked for the TV9 staff involved in the program to be immediately arrested invoking house privileges. Another lady MLA seem to have complained about 2 more such programs running presently in channels that are even making personal comments on legislators, like their looks and language.
