The Telangana Government has fastened the process of setting up Telangana State Public Service Commission to fill 18,000 vacancies that are immediately available. Chief Minister KCR is reported to have directed senior officials to take necessary steps for speedy formation of the commission a couple of days ago. The decision comes in the wake of intense demonstrations by sections of OU students over the the regularization of contractual staff. Realizing the government’s objective of fulfilling that poll promise can’t be achieved without addressing the demands of students for jobs, the state government has now taken a two-pronged approach.
