AP, Telangana ‘Power Panchayat’ Postponed To Aug 4

Telangana Energy Secretary SK Joshi and Transco MD SM Rizvi are traveling today to Chhattisgarh for discussions over power purchase. So today’s 2nd meeting of Central Electricty Authority (CEA) in Delhi with Telangana and AP Energy Secretaries has been postponed to August 4. Even if they decide and declare their findings, there is little possibility AP CM Chandrababu Naidu would heed to any of it, if it means giving Telangana the power it is entitled to, under the AP Reorganisation Act. A day after the committee has been set up, the AP CM ...

Telangana Has To Wait For 1 Year To Even Buy Additional Power!

Even while residuary AP has placed orders with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to buy additional power, Telangana has to wait for at least an year to purchase power from either the North-South grid from it’s neighbors Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, thanks to the atrocious discrimination of erstwhile AP State against Telangana region in getting it connected with transmission lines. Though Chhattisgarh is willing to sell power, Telangana can’t immediately buy as the only transmission between 2 states is Sileru in Khammam which is now litigated by AP with the help of Modi Government’s Polavaram Ordinance. Irrespective of what happens with Sileru, Telangana is preparing for an alternative transmission line as per CM KCR’ statement in assembly. But this new transmission line ...
