TSCHE To Release Telangana’s EAMCET Counseling Schedule

Chairman  T Papi Reddy of  the  newly-constituted Telangana State Higher Education Council  (TSCHE) has stated that counseling for Telangana state students will be conducted by the Council itself  and the counseling would be completed by August 31 as per the verdict of the Supreme Court.  The council will meet tomorrow and would decide the future course of action for carrying the admission process for the state’s students. The council is expected to clear the air on the process of certificate verification of the EAMCET-qualified students in the state, besides deliberating on the observations of the Telangana government-appointed task force that has been inspecting quality norms across 400 private engineering colleges in the State. half of the colleges are reportedly inspected already. ‘Who Are You?’ HC Asks AP MLA For His PIL Against Telangana’s FAST

The Hyderabad High Court on Monday questioned TDP MLA Pithani Satyanarayana to explain his locus standi on the FAST scholarship scheme introduced by Telangana Government. The AP TDP MLA filed a PIL challenging the Telangana government introducing a new welfare scheme FAST to replace the present fee reimbursement scheme. The MLA urged the court to reject the GO and declare “FAST” as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14, 15, 19 (d) and (e) and 21 of the Constitution. Also, his PIL claimed the order was running contrary to Article 371-D of the Constitution and violative of Sections 95 and 75 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation act, 2014, he said. SC Directs EAMCET Counseling To Be Completed By End Of Aug

The Supreme Court today directed both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to complete the admission process for EAMCET by the end of August and begin classes for the current academic session from September first week. The SC referred the matter for next hearing on August 11, when it is expected to give the full judgement, on fee reimbursement and nativity norms.The court asked AP & TS to insulate students’ education from the impact of bifurcation and refrain from politicising the matter. The court observed that the recent EAMCET notification be dealt in a special manner, as it came during bifuraction. 58%:42% – Chandrababu Proposes, KCR Disposes

Telangana Chief Minister KCR has rejected the attempt of his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to make Telangana share the burden of the fee reimbursement scheme. Reacting to Naidu’s offer that Andhra Pradesh would bear 58 per cent of the scheme if Telangana paid 42 per cent of the fees, KCR said that it was not possible. He said that the Telangana government will follow the guidelines of the Supreme Court on this issue. State Govt. Sets Up Panel To Finalize Guidelines For FAST Scholarship

The Telangana State Government has issued GO 36 to finalize the guidelines for FAST scholarship scheme being introduced from this year. This is in follow up to the  decision made at the 3rd Cabinet Meeting of the Council of Ministers held at 3 P.M. on 16th July 2014. There were earlier reports on the brainstorming of what could end up in this final list of guidelines, including high marks and attendance percentage for students wishing to avail the scholarship.
