Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the government would supply irrigation waters to 5 lakh acres in Mahbubnagar district in the next Kharif season. Harish Rao said major irrigation projects like Kalwakurty, Bheema, Nettempadu, RDS and Koilsagar will be completed shortly. The government will give top priority for completion of irrigation projects pending for long time, and which can be completed with some extra effort for few months, to cater to the needs of agriculture, he said. Telangana State Government is focusing fully on restoring old lakes and water bodies as an immediate task to rescue farm cultivation in rural pockets.In a joint meeting with CM KCR and collectors, Irrigation Minister, T Harish Rao directed the officials concerned to initiate steps to renovate all water bodies on war-footing.
