Result of Kiran Reddy’s 45 minute meeting with his ‘boss’ to be seen on Monday

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, when asked whether he would meet Digvijaya Singh or not, said, “Do you meet your boss or not?”

CM Kiran Reddy met with his boss for 45 minutes on Friday after which Diggy said he hopes the T process would happen smoothly in AP Assembly and also said CWC’s resolution is binding on all Congressmen, including the CM. Media reports suggested Digvijay asked the CM to put in all efforts to send back the views of Assembly on the bill to the President by the end of this Assembly session on Dec 20. While, after the meeting, Kiran Reddy, who has been projecting himself as the Samaikyandra star batsman till today, ordered the distribution of copies of AP Reorganization bill to the office of the Speakers of Assembly and the legislative council. The momentum in the process of the Telangana Bill is expected to resume on Monday. This was further strengthened by the comments of the CM’s coterie, reported by Hindustan Times, that if forced to bring the bill in the assembly next week, he and his coterie would switch to exploring options to avoid the bill’s introduction in the winter session of Parliament. In effect, they have almost gave up on the delaying tactics in the assembly and now claim to start influencing process at national level in Parliament!

On Friday, Kiran’s coterie raised trivial issues like bill being only in English as the reasons that could delay placing the bill in Assembly. This is a departure from his strident tone earlier against the bill. Further dilution of the stand is expected on Monday.
