List Of Telangana & Andhra Employees In Secretariat, As Per Govt. Release

The AP Govt. on Tuesday released a list of 1,865 Secretariat employees, from the cadre of additional secretary to DR&T assistant in all the departments, clearly specifying their “local status.”

The top-priority memo issues along with this list asked for objections over status delcared by any of the employees to be conveyed to a Dy. Secretary. It said “In case, any employee, finds his local status incorrect or if anyone has reasons to believe that local status of any employee is incorrectly given, it is suggested that such employee or the person should send their representations to Dy. Secretary to Government (SU), GAD either in person or by mail (ds_su_gad@ap.gov.in), duly signed and stating the reasons why any local status of an employee is not correct.”

Of the 1,865 employees, additional secretaries are just about 7, joint secretaries, 8, deputy secretaries 62, assistant secretaries 143, section officers 572, assistant section officers 828, private secretaries 83, special category stenos 28, senior stenos 6, junior stenos 25, TCA 33 and DR&T assistants 70.

Telangana employees erupted in anger over the list which specified 1050 employees as that of Andhra and 805 that of Telangana. The others are specified with miscellaneous details. Most of the 1000 odd employees listed as Andhras are low-level officers and most of Andhras at higher posts listed themselves as Telangana natives, as per Telangana employees. They even say that many of these who declared themselves from Telangana actively participated in strike against Telangana Statehood and burnt copies of Telangana bill right in Secretariat. They declared they are going to furnish details of all Telangana natives and that that has to be considered in determining nativity of employees rather than relying on self-declarations.
