KCR Challenges Naidu To Compete With Him In Development

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today challenged his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to compete with him on development of states if he is sincere about people and if he has any courage, instead of raking up non-issues everyday.

After unveiling bust size statue of Acharya Jayashankar at the Agricultural University entrance, KCR accused the AP leaders of jealousy and conspiracy towards the 2 month old TRS Government. As per AP Reorganisation Act, Agriculture varsity’s name was changed and there are so many things which will follow suit, he asserted.

Offering to provide 15 per cent of seats in the Agriculture varsity for AP students, KCR suggested that their fees should be borne by the AP Govt as “we do for our own students”. He also ridiculed Naidu saying that the latter was ready to build a Singapore in AP but not to bear the fees of his students. Naidu should refrain from raking such useless issues and instead focus his attention on development of his State, he said.

He also took exception to TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah and BJP Chief G Kishen Reddy for making a hue and cry on crop loan waiver, power crisis and other issues. “It is shame on part of Ponnala to make such allegations on crop loan waiver issue”, he said attributing the power crisis and farmers issues to the failure of previous Congress regime. “We are committed to keep all our promises and there is no need for panic”, he reiterated.

With reference to Agriculture varsity, KCR exhorted the scientists and officials to focus on new products, research and cater to the future needs of people. He also called upon the farming community to produce adequate grains for their consumption and put in efforts to produce seed to make Telangana State into a seed bowl of India. The TRS Govt will extend full support for the purpose, he maintained.

Recalling the services of Prof. Jayashankar for protection of Telangana culture and traditions, KCR said they would reconstruct Golden Telangana with a focus on welfare and development.
