While Capitalist Andhras like Lagadapati and Kavuri have been spearheading the Anti-Telangana movement, lobbyists like Loksatta Jayaprakash Nayaran covertly supported them all through. While they have now all come in open declaring war on the centre for going ahead with Telangana State formation, CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury has joined them now. While CPI(M), right from the beginning, was opposed to Telangana State, it was supposedly on an ideological basis. But now, Kakinada guy Sitaram Yechury seem to be displaying his ‘primordial loyalties’ (to borrow JP’s term and his own situation) by asking all these leaders to unite and defeat the Telangana bill in Parliament. Today PTI reported that he said the move of 13 MPs from Andhra Pradesh to bring a no-confidence motion against the UPA government was “not a correct tactic” and asked them to unite members to defeat the proposed bill to divide the state and create a separate Telangana. So, he would be advising the Samaikyandra gang now, quite publicly, on how to strategize to defeat the bill.
It is apt to recollect what the Americans said about Yechury in their WikiLeaks cables – “Yechury is the thinking man’s Marxist, which is to say that even if he’s wrong, he sounds convincingly cogent and analytical”
