TRS set to capture Hitech Hyderabad – winning Chevella LS

TRS, the Telangana champion always projected as limited to 2 districts in Northern Telangana is set to announce it’s arrival tomorrow with unmistakable pomp by capturing heartland of Hyderabad in tomorrow’s results. Chevella Lok Sabha, which contains the IT hubs in Madhapur, Hitec City, Kondapur thru Gachibowli is almost in TRS pocket. Andhra media always projected TRS as an aggressive agitation party that could hurt ‘Brand Hyderabad’. This was despite repeated assertions from TRS that it would not do anything to force Industry, especially IT companies, to toe any line in support of the Telangana movement. Even at the height of the Telangana movement, this IT borough in Hyderabad had seen no forced disruptions due to the strikes and bandhs. Even while the majority of the Telangana youth, including those in IT, put their weight behind the Telangana movement, the media propaganda meant TRS was seen unfriendly to development by outsiders in this IT hub. All that is set to change if the TRS contestant Konda Vishweswar Reddy is announced the winner in tomorrow’s results.

And there is a good reason to believe he will seeing all exit polls which peg Congress tally to 2-4 at maximum and the TDP-BJP combine to 2-3.That means TDP & BJP’s chances are limited to Secunderabad, Khammam and Mahabubnagar. Congress is fighting it out in Karimnagar & Nalgonda districts along with Mahabubabad and they alone seem to be it’s bright chances. Chevella contest is mainly between TRS and Congress and even Congress cadre admit there wasn’t any momentum with them. Some opine that Sabita Indra Reddy could have been a more formidable challenge than her son Karthik who contested this time. TDP is expected to finish 3rd.

If exit-polls are to be trusted, TRS may even pull off a spectacular victory in Malkajgiri too, pocketing yet an another geography projected as disenchanted with TRS. All leaders from LokSatta Jayaprakash Narayan to Revanth Reddy to former DGP Dinesh Reddy queued up to contest from this, India’s largest Lok Sabha Constituency, mainly betting on the sizeable settler votebank. From what the exit polls say, this vote bank has been mainly divided among TDP, YSCRP and LSP making it easier for TRS. So TRS emerges hot favorite here. However, with 30+ lakh votes, this could be unpredictable, unlike Chevella. Victories in these 2 Constituencies would redefine TRS role in GHMC limits and Ranga Reddy in general. Many in Hyderabad have already geared up for celebrations tomorrow.
