Telangana Float Wins In The California Show Of India’s Democracy & Diversity

Telangana Float, with winner trophy of FIA’s 22nd annual India independence day parade in Fremont , California.

On hot August afternoon, in the heart of Fremont, in Silicon valley, California, more than 25 floats rolled down on Capitol ave., on a parade to celebrate India’s 68th Independence Day. The event, Festival of India and parade is hosted by Federation of Indo Americans (FIA) of Northern California to celebrate India’s democracy and diversity. This year, the 22nd year of the festivities were celebrated from Aug.15 through Aug.17th. For the many past years, the Festival of India has came to symbolize India’s ancient and rich cultural heritage and diversity. Albany Telangana Friends (ATF) Celebrate Telangana State Formation

Celebrations over Telangana State formation continue across foreign shores. Albany Telangana Friends, an association of Telangana natives did a grand celebration of our historic achievement of statehood. The celebrations happened in an all day event on June 29, 2014 from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm at River Road Park, Niskayuna in Albany of New York State. Around 350 people gathered and participated in this event to mark Telangana’s freedom for self-rule. Many spoke at the event and recalled the Martyrs sacrifices for the cause and observed 2 minutes of silence in their memory. AZTGA’s Grand Telangana Celebrations In Phoenix

Arizona Telangana Association (AZTGA) celebrated the historic event of Telangana Formation Day on June 8th, 2014 that had several noted dignitaries and the entire Telugu fraternity of AZ in attendance. Held at the Indo-American Cultural Hall, the event saw luminaries from all walks of life, from ministers to musicians, grace the function and welcome the new state by recounting the long 60-year-history of Telangana’s struggle and optimism.
