Telangana Shines By Scoring 3 In Top 100 Of UPSC Ranks

Budding State Telangana made it’s mark in UPSC results by scoring all the 3 ranks below 100 scored by Telangana and AP put together.

Born in Karimnagar and raised in Hyderabad, Krittika Jyotsna Mishra bagged the 30th rank and topped the Union Public Service Commission civil services exam, 2013, in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The 28-year-old cracked the Civil Services Exam in her 4th attempt. Her father, S.B.L. Mishra, is an IFS (Indian Forest Service) officer and presently Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Telangana.

Following Krittika is Musharaff Ali Farooqui who is ranked 80. He is from a reputed family in Mahabubnagar and is an IIT Chennai alumnus, who had a stint with Intel before going for civils. S. Krishna Aditya, who bagged the 99th rank is from Nalgonda. He is an MBA from OU who had a stint in IT consulting for 4 years in Hyderabad. 1,122 applicants are selected this year by the UPSC for IAS, IPS, IFS and other Central services and reports.

Reports are coming in on other toppers from Telangana. The latest results showed the rankers dominated by North. The top 25 candidates have claimed domicile from only 11 states/UTs in all: Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Among the top 25 position-holders, 20 appeared from Delhi, two from Jaipur and one each from Lucknow, Bangalore and Chandigarh. Only Telangana, Kerala and Karnataka scored 1 rank each from South India in top 30. Other rankers are from rest of India.

Considering this phenomenon, Telangana made a good show. In fact, there are around 35 from the IAS study circles in Hyderabad who scored ranks. Some of them are mentioned below:
