Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said in Vizag that the Telangana assembly resolution asking for withdrawal of the Polavaram Ordinance can’t change the Polavaram plans. Telangana Govt has been demanding a change in design of Polavaram project to eliminate the high submergence and limit it to fewer villages. Venkaiah Naidu has been the brains behind the quick issuance of the Ordinance and his latest statement only indicates Centre’s determination to ram through with the separation of 7 mandals of Khammam from Telangana and go ahead with the present design of Polavaram.
