Only about 41.20 per cent of the inhabitations in Telangana State have been covered so far under rural water supply (RWS) schemes, and of the total of 27,129 habitations in the State, 13,156 do not have adequate drinking water supply. Around 1847 habitations have fluoride problem and need to be addressed at the earliest. These facts were brought out at a review meeting held by the Minister for Pancyahati Raj and Rural Development, K T Rama Rao, with the senior officials.
