R Vidyasagar Rao took charge as advisor to Government of Telangana in Chamber 408 of D Block in Secretariat in Hyderabad on Sunday. He would advise the government in Irrigation affairs in the newborn State. A well-known voice for the injustices met to Telangana in irrigation and water allotments, Mr Rao is a confidente of the Chief Minister and is one of the brains behind the Irrigation plans envisaged by the new Telangana Government. He is a retired chief engineer from Central Water Commission, Delhi.
