Telangana Allocated 163 IAS, 112 IPS & 65 IFS Posts

The Centre has allocated 163 posts of IAS, 112 IPS and 65 Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officers to the newly-formed state of Telangana. The composition of the three all-India services is based on a recommendation by a six-member committee headed by former Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) Pratyush Sinha. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued a notification defining cadre strength for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and IFoS. With this order, Andhra Pradesh will have 211 posts of IAS, 144 of IPS and 82 of IFoS officers, it said. Telangana May Get Additional 34 IAS Officers

The Pratyush Sinha Committee, constituted by the Centre, met in New Delhi and held discussions with Telangana chief secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and his AP counterpart I.Y.R. Krishna Rao over the distribution of All India Service (AIS) officers for the 2 states. The guidelines are finalized for allotment and are forwarded to PMO for clearance. Officers would be allotted in 13:10 ration between AP & Telangana. Telangana has only 44 IAS officers allotted now on provisional basis and so is grappling with huge work load and administration has been affected.
