Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s Nizam Hyderabad connection!

Najeeb Jung, the Lt. Governor who may end up ruling Delhi in case of President’s rule getting imposed, has an interesting Hyderabad connection. His grandparents have served as the chief justice and chief engineer in the court of the last Nizam of Hyderabad. His forefathers have moved to Delhi before Independence and settled there since then. He joined the IAS in 1973. He served as collector in Raipur and Datiya in MP. Jung’s first big break came in 1984 when Madhavrao Scindia became the railway minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government. During PV Narasimha Rao’s tenure, Jung was the joint secretary (exploration) in the ministry of petroleum and natural gas.
