Maa Bhoomi is a 1979 Telugu film written by Kishan Chander and B. Narsing Rao based on the Telangana Rebellion in Hyderabad State. It also depicts a typical life of villagers under feudalistic society in Telangana region. It was the first feature film of acclaimed Indian director Goutham Ghose. The film was screened at Karlovy Vary Film Festival, Cairo and Sidney Film Festivals. The film is listed among CNN-IBN’s list of hundred land mark Indian films of all time.
