Telangana government on Saturday issued orders introducing Land Purchase Scheme to purchase and assign 3 acres of agriculture land to landless Dalit women dependent on agriculture. The government has already taken a decision to launch the scheme from August 15. According to the orders issued by Principal Secretary (SC Development) T. Radha, the focus for the annual action plan under SCSP for 2014-15 would land purchase for landless poor SC households. The Telangana Government is working on allotting three acres of land to each of the Dalit farmers in the State. At a review meeting with the officials held here on Saturday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao asked the officials to work on designing a scheme in this regard for the benefit of scheduled caste farmers. The first priority should be given to landless Dalits in the allotment process, he added.
