KCR Presents Modi 14 Demands & Objections Over Polavaram Ordinance

CM KCR submitted a list of 14 demands for Telangana State development to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. Their meeting lasted for 45 minutes during which KCR submitted 14 separate memorandums to the Prime Minister giving details of the 14 demands and how crucial they are for Telangana. In addition to these demands, KCR demanded rollback of the Polavaram Ordinance & alter project design before commencing the project.

TRS LS leader MP Jithender Reddy & TRS LS whip Kadiam Srihari which later briefed the media about the list of these demands.

1. Special Category Status for Telangana State.
2. Declaration of Pranahita-Chevella Dam as national project.
3. Tax incentives for Telangana State as per AP Re-Org Act.
4. 4,000 MW power project as per AP Re-Org Act.
5. Separate High Court for the new State should be formed.
6. Development of Hyderabad urban agglomeration as a slum-free city.
7. Rejuvenation of Musi River on the lines of Sabarmati River in Gujarat.
8. Establishment of Horticulture and Tribal universities as per AP Re-Org Act.
9. Development of roads and up-gradation of some roads as National Highways.
10. Setting up of steel plant in Bayyaram of Khammam as per AP Re-Org Act.
11. Allotting new railway projects, including coach factory.
12. Conservation of forest land in Telangana through more CAMPA funds.

“Modi has assured to look into the demands made by KCR. Telangana CM himself will brief the media about his interactions with the Prime Minister later,” TRS MP Jithender Reddy said. Srihari added they have expressed discontent on Polavaram Ordinance issued by President Pranab Mukherjee. “It is totally undemocratic to issue such an ordinance without consulting the T and AP States”, he added.
