Dr T. Rajaiah Takes Charge As Deputy CM; Makes Surprise Inspection Of Gandhi Hospital

Dr T. Rajaiah, who assumed office as Deputy Chief Minister with Health & Medical portfolio on Saturday, put his first signature on the file relating to up-gradation of MGM Children Hospital in Warangal into 120 bedded ICU Hospital. He also sanctioned a 50 bed hospital to Nangunuru in Medak district.

Later, the Deputy Chief Minister made a surprise inspection of Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. After inspecting facilities and environment in the hospital, Rajaiah exhorted the doctors to discharge their functions diligently to the satisfaction of the people. He also said the goal of the TRS government was to extend good medical facilities to the rural population in the State. Stating that his government would not agree for organizing EAMCET in private sector, Rajaiah said the government would go to court, if necessary.

The Deputy CM reiterated that his government will offer best medical services at the doorsteps of people and that his government will implement its manifesto. He has assured that the medical and health sector in Telangana would be free from corruption and irregularities.

Speaking to media persons after assuming charge at the State Secretariat here on Saturday, Rajaiah said that all steps would be taken to develop and improve infrastructure in the public hospitals. He warned the staff of stringent action in case of dereliction of duties. He said he would conduct surprise checks of all hospital across Telangana. The medical education too will be promoted at a large scale, he said.

He thanked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for making him the Deputy Chief Minister and assigning him the portfolio of Medical and Health. Earlier, an all religious prayer was held at his chambers in the presence of prominent TRS leaders including Minister T Harish Rao.
