Is CM Kiran helping GoM complete it’s process on Telangana!?

Many in Delhi are surprised with the turn of events in last 2 days. While CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is projected as a Samaikyandra champion, many analysts are taking it with a pinch of salt and doubting his motives. They say that if he truly wanted to stop Telangana process, he would have refused to meet GoM, if not resign, thereby delaying GoM’s process of discussions. Instead he met them and the GoM is finalizing its report on 21st Nov!

It would have been impossible for GoM proceed further when CM of the territory to be bifurcated does not meet or discuss with them. Instead, his Government cooperated with Centre in every possible way to fasten the process and he too dutifully replied to each of the 11 terms of reference GoM is working on. He called a press conference and discussed the same points openly thereby giving the GoM’s work real legitimacy. Now the Congress central Govt. can claim they considered every possible point of concern Seemandhra has regarding bifurcation, with the CM’s list of concerns being so exhaustive! While Telangana activists must be seething in anger and frustration with the logic and lies he peddled, it is important to note he didn’t slow down the process. Even when asked about his future program, he simply said he will place his views on the bill when it comes to AP assembly for discussion. Everyone knows Assembly’s resolution is not binding on the centre as per Article 3. So there is not much Kiran would be able to do once the bill gets union cabinet’s approval. It looks like the CM is simply on an image building exercise for Congress’ and his political future in Seemandhra with his press statements without actually going against the wishes of Congress high command’s decision on Telangana in any of his actions.
