Hyderabad will be hosting another two-day start-up festival in August. Right now, the city is hosting startup weekend at ISB.
Next month’s event would bring together entrepreneurs and investors on a common platform, said K. T. Rama Rao, the IT and panchayat minister who is gunning to enhance the technology ecosystem in the city by conducting tech events on a continual basis.
“We want to encourage start-up firms by creating one of the best enabling ecosystems in the country. As part of this, we are going to organise a two-day start-up festival on August 30-31 in partnership with Hysea, TiE Hyderabad and Nasscom at ISB,” said the minister, addressing 200 startup entrepreneurs who participated in a cycle rally organised by the Atlanta Foundation on Saturday.
The event is expected to attract 1,500 start-ups. The theme would be Art and Entrepreneurship. The IT minister said Hyderabad is lagging behind Bengaluru due to the tech ecosystem found lacking here. The Govt would set up a T-Hub (tech hub) to fill this gap, he said.
The T-Hub will make the best use of IIIT, ISB and Nalsar. IIIT would mentor tech start-ups, ISB will help with the business processes while Nalsar would help navigate the intellectual rights, he said.
ISB partnered with the StartUp weekend conducted this weekend.
