BJP Leaders Repeatedly Request Governor’s Intervention!

Looks like Telangana BJP leaders are keen to give Governor ESL Narasimhan a greater say in State’s affairs. This approach is in tune with Centre’s circular on Hyderabad’s law & order. While it can be understood if the party had concerns over issues, what is interesting is that only Telangana BJP leaders repeatedly queue up for Governor’s darshan and request his intervention on each and every issue citing Telangana Government’s decisions. Never did Andhra BJP leaders meet the Governor and complained about any decisions made by AP Govt, like on cancelling PPAs. The efforts of BJP are clearly made one to doubt if the intention is to keep undermining the powers of Telangana Government. 

The latest in the series of meetings is when senior leader and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya on Saturday requested Governor ESL Narasimhan to intervene to resolve the ongoing disputes between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons here, Dattatreyya said that fee reimbursement, water and power were the major contentious issues going on between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said that the Chief Minsiters – Nara Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao are not on talking terms. So, the Governor should intervene and ensure that people do not suffer. What is perplexing is why BJP, being in power at Centre, can’t take that lead and resolve issues. While meetings repeatedly happen in Delhi between officials of two governments, no headway is being made. Then, how can BJP expect the Governor to make any progress? 

Dattatreyya also criticized the Telangana Government for putting pre-1956 position as condition for fee reimbursement. He demanded that KCR should convene an all-party meeting on fee reimbursement on immediate basis. Surely, the BJP thinks that condition is a problem for Telangana just like boycotting TV9 and ABN while welcoming the Polavaram ordinance and cancellation of PPAs!
