Will Chandrababu Naidu dare contest from Malkajgiri Loksabha?

Chandrababu Naidu’s plans for 2014 elections have again become a matter of speculation today when a major newspaper once again bought forward one of the options he seems to be pondering – Malkajgiri Loksabha. The constituency which has good settler population has been a subject of speculation even before the CWC resolution on Telangana. Loksatta’s Jayaprakash Narayan was getting ready to contest and he reportedly was in process of having an understanding with TDP too to strengthen his chances. However, Telangana Statehood played havoc with his plans which made him stick to his Kukatpally Assembly Constituency. Off late, TDP’s moves on Malkajgiri raised eyebrows with especially one TDP backed newschannel, owned by a TDP RS member, specially focusing on the constituency’s affairs and atatcking sitting MP and Union Minister Survey Satyanarayana. Naidu loyalist Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao from Medak too is cultivating cadre in Malkajgiri and preparing groundwork in case Naidu actually decides to contest there. Mynampalli himself is contesting from Malkajgiri Assembly Constituency.

“As it is likely that Naidu would contest from Malkajgiri, I will be one of his campaign managers,” said TDP MLA Revanth Reddy. Would Naidu actually end up contesting from Malkajgiri and risk the election in which he would invite the wrath of Telangana electorate is to be seen.
