The Centre has deputed Dr Rajiv Sharma, IAS of 1982 batch, to officiate as Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana State until further orders. Dr. Rajiv Sharma worked as the Director General of CGG in Hyderabad during September 2006 to January 2011. He earlier was involved in Telangana bifurcation processes in past 2 years on behalf of union home ministry. Coming from a poor and rural background, Mr Sharma rose to prominent position in bureaucracy with his work ethic. He is a career civil servant belonging to the Indian Administrative Service.
