Telangana government has issued GOs as per Act 6 of AP Reorganization Act bifurcating the 50-year-old Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), Hyderabad and the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. The Telangana units of both the universities are named after Professor Jayashankar and PV Narasimha Rao respectively. Late Prof Jayashankar, who stood for the Telangana movement throughout his life got a small tribute by getting a university named after him. The agricultural university, is named as ‘Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University’.
