‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ To Be Introduced In All Schools Shortly

“Jaya Jaya He Telangana”  the song written by noted lyricist Andesri, which is expected to be declared a State song, is to be introduced in all government and private schools across the state, declared Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy. Talking to reporters, he said that the government will soon release a circular in this regard. Elaborate arrangements are being made to ensure that the students know the state song and how to sing it. All schools would be instructed in detail on how to take up the song and spread it among their students.

Telangana Grandly Celebrates State Festival Bonalu; CM KCR Prays For State’s Prosperity

Telangana celebrated the festival Bonalu today with loads of zeal and euphoria. The festival is dedicated to Hindu goddess Mahakali and is marked to ward off evil and usher in peace and harmony. While the women cook rice with milk and jaggery in new brass or earthen pots and then carry them on their heads to offer it to Hindu goddess, the artists dress up as various goddesses and mythological characters in the processions and also perform various acts to mark the celebration of the festival. CM visited the Mahankali Temple along with his wife and offered special poojas. At last, Hyderabad – Warangal Highway Set To Be 4 Lane Highway!

The Hyderabad – Warangal highway is at last set to be a 4 lane highway, thanks to the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA)’s approval yesterday. The 145 KM highway, part of the national highway 163 leading to Chhattisgarh, will be expanded to 4 lanes. The Yadagirigutta to Warangal stretch would be expanded and in a later phase Warangal to Godavari road works could be taken. Rs 1,487.95 crore has been allotted for this 4 laning. After the completion of this expansion, the high traffic Hyderabad - Warangal stretch could get a little safer as there is high incidence of accidents every day on the single lane.   One of the most lasting legacies of the Deccan has been the water management policy formulated by the Kakatiya dynasty, which relied mainly on small tanks for its irrigation and drinking water requirements. There was a time when the Telangana countryside boasted of thousands of tanks which ensured a perennial supply of water for settlements across the region. The Qutub Shahi rulers continued the practice by adding numerous tanks of their own, especially in the areas abutting the citadel at Golconda.
