Telangana State’s Aug 15 Celebrations In Golconda Fort

Telangana State is gearing up for huge celebrations of August 15, it’s maiden Independence day celebrations, from Golkonda fort, the Deccan India’s largest fort. The CM directed the DGP and Chief Secretary to look at options around the Fort and start preparations. The regular practice of marking the day in Parade Grounds is given a skip this year as this is the 1st major national day celebrated by Telangana State. Already the cultural department is preparing several floats and tableaus reflecting the historical and cultural heritage of Telangana. Several programs are being designed to reflect Telangana culture and society on August 15th.

Karnataka Deploys Police To Increase Rajolibanda Barrage Height!

Karnataka government has ordered Raichur police to provide protection to staff working at RDS to increase the height as per agreement reached earlier between Karnataka & AP. Telangana government has been following up with Karnataka government on a priority basis to get the height of Rajolibanda barrage increased by 15 cm. and a letter was written by Irrigation minister Harish Rao to the Karnataka government on the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS). The government sources say Karnataka government is cooperating with the Telangana government. But, due to the recent rains, the water levels increased up to crest gate levels. Bonalu, the annual festival celebrated throughout the Telangana region, particularly grandly in the twin cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad, has taken a colorful fervour this year as Telangana’s state festival. The thanksgiving festival dedicated to Goddess Mahankali, known also as Maisamma, Yellamma, Renuka Mata, Pochamma, Peddamma, Poleramma, Maramma, and Ankalamma got the official trappings this year. Lanco’s Wakf Land Again Under The Scanner

The controversy ridden Lanco Hills project at Manikonda is back into focus with the government hinting at resuming the ‘wakf’ land. This is yet another setback to the infrastructure major which suffered a blow after the A.P. High Court ruled that the 108 acre of land being developed as a residential-cum-commercial venture actually belonged to the Wakf Board. In fact the vast tracts of land allotted by the A.P Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) in Manikonda jagir belonging to Dargah Hazrath Hussain Shah Wali to various companies are embroiled in controversy right from 2007. SAIL In Talks With Telangana To Set Up Rs 30,000 Cr Steel Plant!

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) which has earlier declared it’s decision to establish a steel plant to tap Bayyaram iron ore, as we reported the news earlier, is reportedly already in discussions with Telangana government over the roadmap for setting up the plant. CM KCR disclosed this in a meeting with officials while discussing the formulation of an industrial policy tailored for Telangana. The steel plant reportedly has an initial investment of 30,000 Cr and will be set up on the borders of Warangal and Khammam district.
