CM KCR on Saturday shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejecting the Ministry of Home Affairs’ letter’s proposals to the State Government on Friday handing over state subjects of law & order to the Governor. The CM pointed out that bypassing the council of ministers by the Governor, as suggested by the letter, is neither sanctioned by the Constitution nor the AP Reorganisation Act. The CM doubted if the PM knew about the contents of the letter. TS Advocates Meet Union Law Minister And Demand Separate High Court

The demand for a separate High Court for Telangana state is now echoing the Delhi durbar. Telangana advocates, along with TRS and BJP leaders from Telangana, met Union law minister Ravi Shanker Prasad in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum urging the Centre to take immediate steps to establish separate High Courts for Telangana Andhra Pradesh. Senior BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS MP B. Vinod Kumar, along with the advocates met the Union law minister. The advocates, who have launched a stir, expressed anguish over the abnormal delay in setting up of new High Courts, which would not only ease work in either state but create more employment opportunities and also ensure promotions for judicial officers. Kamalanathan Committee Flooded With Complaints From TS Employees

The Kamalnathan Committee constituted for distribution of employees between AP and TS has been overwhelmed with  objections from Telangana employees over giving “options” to employees to choose the state of their choice on  grounds of spouses and health issues. The result is that the earlier date of Aug 14th for it’s meeting is now moved to August 23, to buy time to brainstorm over the huge number of objections. The Committee had given 10 days to file objections on draft guidelines issued by it for distribution of employees, which ended on August 5. KCR Challenges Naidu To Compete With Him In Development

 Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today challenged his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to compete with him on development of states if he is sincere about people and if he has any courage, instead of raking up non-issues everyday. After unveiling bust size statue of Acharya Jayashankar at the Agricultural University entrance, KCR accused the AP leaders of jealousy and conspiracy towards the 2 month old TRS Government. As per AP Reorganisation Act, Agriculture varsity’s name was changed and there are so many things which will follow suit, he asserted. TS Forces Godavari Board To Look Into AP’s Violations Over Sharing Of Sileru, Machkund & Donkarayi Power

The Telangana government has successfully forced the Godavari River Management Board to consider power sharing issues that rose after AP stopped sharing information of power generation at Upper & Lower Sileru, Machkund and Donkarayi power plants along river Godavari. At a meeting held in the Red Hills office of Central Water Commission (CWC), under the chairmanship of A Mahendran on Wednesday, Telangana rejected any further discussion without considering the teething power issues Telangana is mired in.  The four-long meeting witnessed heated arguments between AP and Telangana officials with the latter strongly protesting the Andhra government’s secrecy over Sileru power generation details, to thwart Telangana’s rightful share in power.
