Karnataka Showers Sops On Hero Motors To Pocket It’s 2 Wheeler Plant Project

A determined Karnataka Govt. has announced many sops to Hero Motors to entice it to set up it’s 6th plant in the state. Earlier, the motor company was actively considering Telangana for the location after it’s initial talks with Karnataka enter a deadlock, over setting up a plant in Dharwad. Then, Hero asked Karnataka for 500 acres of land as well as additional land for for units to house its 40 vendors, as we reported. Karnataka then was reluctant but now has accepted that along with a host of other tax incentives, making an irresistible offer to Hero. Telangana To Use Southern Grid To Get Power From Chhattisgarh

After the discussions of Telangana Energy Secretary SK Joshi and Transco MD SM Rizvi with Chhattisgarh officials on Wednesday, there is now clarity on Telangana’s immediate plan to solve it’s power shortage woes. The state’s officials surveyed all options and have zeroed in on using the space that would be available on-off in the southern grid capacities, now being used by Tamil Nadu and Karnataka mainly. While Telangana is making purchase agreement for getting up to 1000 mw, the space available could be as little as 200 mw initially and Telangana would like to get started with that purchase quantity and gradually increase as and when space is available. Hyderabad The 3rd Best In Hiring Across All Sectors, As Per ASSOCHAM

Hyderabad is picking up pace in hiring in recent months according to a survey done by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) for Jan-June 2014 period.  Hyderabad especially picked up in IT, Healthcare, Banking & Pharma  industries. In terms of growth in hiring, compared to same period last year, Hyderabad, which reported a 32% increase, is 3rd best city, just behind Delhi-NCR region with an impressive 54% and Bangalore which clocked 38%. Interestingly, Chennai and Mumbai recorded a drop of 15% and 28%, respectively, driving home the point that it is not just the upward moments in financial markets around the world that is making a turnaround in the business mood. Develop Infrastructure Outside Hyderabad, ASSOCHAM advises Telangana Govt.

A strategy paper titled ‘Realising Growth Potential of Telangana’, undertaken by the ASSOCHAM, has been released. Development of industrial clusters, tapping of mineral resources, developing the food processing sector and setting up new power projects were some of the recommendations made in the paper, which is already submitted to the Chief Minister. The government should expedite completion of ongoing infrastructure projects and also take up new ones to bridge the divide between Hyderabad and other parts of the state, the report said.
