Here is an interesting blog post from LK Advani on the circumstances that lead to Hyderabad’s liberation through Indian army. The debate between Nehru, Patel, VP Menon and a British general betraying India. Is Andhra repeating the same mistake?

Historians tell Andhra State has been delayed in 1950s because Andhras insisted on having Madras for themselves. This newspaper clipping proves that. While the Andhras continues focus on Madras and wasted precious time, they did’t have a decent place to make their capital when their state is formed in 1953. So they had to move into a make-shift capital in tents! Now, they seem to be doing the same thing. Instead of focusing on where to locate for capital and how to prepare for that, they are blindly insisting on Hyderabad. Because of this they may lose badly in negotiations by not preparing well, although they may get Hyderabad as temporary capital.
