‘They Celebrated then,..Why complain now?’ – Venkaiah’s Sarcasm on Telangana

In a disgraceful way, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu in a press conference on Thursday afternoon admitted publicly that he personally fulfilled the promise of Polavaram made by UPA Govt through the ordinance. After about an hour, the news poured in that the President promulgated the Ordinance. This confirmed our story earlier that Venkaiah Naidu personally got the ordinance signed by President even while the union cabinet lied that they didn’t even discuss the issue.

Venkaiah justified his act by saying that there is no controversy on the transfer of 7 mandals to Andhra and that all have agreed it at the time of passage of AP Reorg Bill. Then the natural question is why they had to lie about the ordinance and even keep the fact that the President signed it a secret, if noone had objections? Venkaiah showed on the 1st day of NDA rule the kind of backroom dealing and lobbying Andhra leadership always follows instead of democratic procedures. In fact Venkaiah sarcastically said in the press conference ‘they celebrated it then, why complain now?’ in a reference to TRS. So Venkaiah seems to think this is a revenge for state bifurcation. This is so partisan of a central minister. He also said he will personally see to it that all promises made to Andhra during bifurcation discussions like spl category status etc are fulfilled. Discussions are already on on how to meet the budget deficit of Andhra at central level. Why Telangana people wish well for Andhra, they seems to think how many more such cheap tricks this Andhra politicos play to rob and humiliate Telangana.
