TS BJP President Kishan Reddy found a new cause. After taking up up cudgels on behalf of the boycotted channels, AP students losing fee reimbursement in TS and of course on behalf of the Centre on Polavaram and Hyderabad law & order issues, Mr Reddy now finds choosing 1000 year old Golconda obnoxious.
Kishan Reddy termed Golconda as a symbol of cruel rule of Nizam altogether forgetting the fort has a rich 100o year history, longer than that of Red Fort. He suggested the TS Govt should instead celebrate a ‘liberation day’ on Golconda to mark the defeat of the Nizam at the hands of the Indian army.
It is off that he prefers the British legacy Secunderabad Parade Grounds as venue for Independence though! He said “I do not know what made KCR to change the venue of Independence day celebration from Secunderabad Parade Grounds to Golkonda Fort. The Chief Minister should explain to the people of the state,”
While he demanded the government to officially celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17, maybe he should explain why his party didn’t ask it’s ally TDP to do the same while it was in power for 10 years during NDA’s rule.
