Harish Rao Gives It Back To Chandrababu!

Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today condemned the comments of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that Telangana Government was resorting to provocative actions and statements. The minister pointed out that it is Naidu who is provoking Telangana at every step with his actions, while giving press statements with sugar-coated words. Harish Rao accused the AO CM of trying to loot Telangana resources like irrigation waters and power. He also slammed Naidu for canceling PPAs and pressing the BJP Government at the Centre to issue the Polavaram Ordinance. He reminded that KCR said right on day 1 that Telangana Govt is for good relations with all it’s neighbors, including AP and that the Telangana Govt. since then didn’t say or do anything to harm AP’s interests.

Talking to media persons at the Secretariat media point on Thursday, Harish Rao alleged that Chandrababu Naidu is indulging in provoking the people of the state. Naidu is just expressing his discontent and jealousy as the TRS Government is trying to keep its promises, he said. He also said Naidu was speaking lies to woo investors and industrialists for setting up new businesses and industries in AP, at the expense of Hyderabad.

We are not creating any hurdles to AP Government in Telangana, including Secretariat, Assembly and other offices, the Minister reminded. Accepting Naidu’s call for talks over crucial issues of irrigation waters and power problem, Harish said the TRS Government was ready to sit across the table and sort out the issues. 

On the barricades put up in the midst of Secretariat, Harish Rao said the decision was taken by officials of State Bifurcation Committee. “We have nothing to do with their decision”, he said. He advised Chandrababu Naidu to focus on implementing his poll promises instead of poking into Telangana Government’s affairs. He wondered why Naidu is criticizing Telangana Government’s actions in Gurukul trust case and asked Naidu if he has any relations to those who occupied those lands. Reacting to Naidu’s statement that TRS is trying to provoke Telangana people over the issues like Power PPAs and Sagar water to Delta, Harish asked if Naidu could convince the Telangana TDP leaders on the same issues before criticizing TRS.
