CM Reaches Out To Industrialists In Interactive Session

Telangana Chief Minister KCR on Tuesday assured that his government would introduce a first-of-kind industrial policy with international standards wherein investors would be able to start their businesses in Telangana in shortest possible time in the country. Interacting with the industrialists associated with FICCI, CII, FAPCCI and other industry bodies here, KCR said that the new policy, to be unveiled in next month, would be very friendly to industries. The Chasing Cell of CMO would ensure clearances of all business proposals through single-window system, which otherwise would take about two to three years with over 24 to 30 different clearances required. Except for environment, all other clearances would be given within three weeks, said the CM. Further, he said that Pollution Control Board used to take up applications during their quarterly meetings. However, the same process would be now bought online to save time and create transparency.

KCR also promised uninterrupted power supply, 10 per cent of water from each irrigation project and other facilities required to set up industries in Telangana. He reiterated that that an officer from Protocol Department would receive all the investors at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and they would be directly brought to his office. He also thanked Governor ESL Narasimhan for referring a few companies planning to invest in the State. “The Governor called me and asked me to talk to some noted investors, who were otherwise put to inconvenience of corruption by the previous government”, KCR said.

The Chief Minister also gave details of his plans to expand the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He said that existing infrastructure like roads, drainage, water supply and other facilities would upgraded. He said that expanded city would cater to the needs of about 2.5 crore people.

KCR said that about 20 lakh acres of land would be used for industrialisation. Further, he said nearly three lakh acres would be allotted to the industries within a radius of 100-120 km of Hyderabad. He said that the Telangana GENCO has been asked to work out plans on the generation of 6,000 MW power on immediate basis. He said that the shortage of power would be met by purchasing power from Chattisgarh and other neighbouring States. He said that the government proposed to encourage plug and play faculties in Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister said that the government aims to eradicate unemployment from the State and would support Dalits, BCs, STs and minorities in entrepreneurship. 

Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma, Special Secretary (Industries) K Pradeep Chandra and more than 50 prominent industrialists participated in the programme. 

Regarding the Tax structure, the CM said his Govt is studying the same in neighboring states like Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and he said Telangana would come out with the best proposal soon.

The CM also said his Govt will come up with the concept of Pharma City shortly and will have an interactive session with Pharma industrialists to develop a Pharma Hub in the vicinity of Hyderabad.
