Celebrating Heritage & Achievements Reinvents I-Day Celebrations In Telangana

Telangana’s maiden Independence day celebrations are getting better by the day. While the venue of Golconda has elevated the August 15th celebrations to a different level altogether, the Govt. has only added to the festive feel by announcing that all medalists at the Common Wealth Games would be awarded with handsome cash rewards on the eve of Independence day. CM KCR announced Rs 50 lakhs to Badminton coachs Gopichand and Arifuddin. He also announced an award of Rs 50 lakh for Gold medallists, Rs 25 lakh for Silver and Rs 15 lakh for Bronze medal winners. Each participant will receive Rs 3 lakh. 

Also, the cash rewards announced by the Telangana government to the Mt Everest conquers Poorna and Anand too would be handed over to them by the Chief Minister during the Independence Day celebrations at Golconda. As per the directions of the Chief Minister, the Scheduled Caste Development department issued a memo too on Wednesday directing the Collectors of respective districts of the 2 champs to identify agriculture land available for sale, buy them and award them to parents of the champs. Funds for 3 additional rooms for their existing houses too are released. Poorna hails from Pakala in Nizamabad district and Ananda Kumar belongs to Kalivaru in Khammam district.

Historians, architects and eminent persons in civil society have welcomed the Government’s decision to hold the independence festivities at Golconda.
