The Revenue department of Telangana Govt. has taken control of 189 acres and 14 guntas land that was deemed allotted to APNGOs. The lands at Survey Nos 36 and 27 at Gopanpalli of Sherlingampalli mandal in Ranga Reddy district are now with Telangana government, as per the boards put up on the site. The change is triggered by a memo passed by the Prinicipal Secretary (Revenue) Mr. BR Meena. Then, the land has been taken over by Suresh Oddar, RDO of Rajendra Nagar, and Vidyasagar, Tahsildar of Sherlingampalii, along with the other staff.

It was in 1991-92 that the then Govt. first made the move to allot lands to APNGOs along with other Govt. employees. The allotment triggered several disputes within APNGOs between various groups jostling for leadership over it. This even led cancellation of the allotment and it was YS Rajashekar Reddy Govt.  in 2008 that again allotted the land. However, the APNGOs internal feud surfaced again and it is reported that even the formalities to transfer the rights over the land to APNGOs are not complete. Technically this means that the APNGOs union, which got the 189 acres, had not made plots and given to its members.

After Telangana was formed, when the State Government found that land within it’s control in Ranga Reddy is paltry and wont suffice to entice any industries or create new projects, it drove into an exercise to examine all the unused lands allotted by previous government. Also, the TNGOs objected on alloting land in Telangana to a union from Andhra Pradesh. In 2005-06, after the housing societies of both unions were converted into mutually aided cooperative societies in response to the enactment of a legislation, the TNGOs union plotted the area in its 160 acres and allotted the same to 1,800 members but the APNGOs could not do it over internal differences.
